2016 has been a challenging, exciting, wonderful and scary year. For me, it has been a year of firsts, with my second darling daughter learning to roll and crawl and walk. It has been a year of adventure, with two family road trips to see relatives across Australia. Scary world events have shaken us all, and I've jumped into the writing world head first to follow my dreams of becoming a published author.
All these things have taught me an important lesson: Don't waste it!
Don't waste the precious time you have each day, week and year. Don't waste the opportunities that come your way to share a moment, make a friend, help someone or reach your goals. Don't waste the resources you are blessed with—water, food, electricity. Don't be wasteful with over consumption of things you don't need or things that destroy our earth (I'm talking about you, plastic!).
So, based on this important lesson, I plan to live by two words in 2017: NOTHING WASTED.
I will not waste time, opportunities or resources. I will not buy things I don't need, and I will be thankful for the things I have. I will work hard and enjoy life, and I will find ways to help others who do need a little more.
I'm looking forward to the year ahead.
